It's Christmastime! I can't believe another year has zoomed past us in a whirlwind of snow, birthdays, rain, anniversaries, sunshine, road-trips, and falling leaves. We can't WAIT to get on the road once again to celebrate Christmas with some of our favourite people. In fact, we even bumped up our departure day from next Monday to this Friday (possibly)... YAY! And this being Jacob's first Christmas, the fun will be abounding threefold.
Jay is done done DONE coursework and so excited that he never has to take another class in his life. After something like a million zillion hours of labs, classes, and research, the class and lab hours came to a screeching halt after his last ever exam the first week of December. Way to go JayJay! Research hours are still in the making as he has to finish his thesis for the big ol' Masters Degree, but now he'll be entirely his own boss. Which, if you know Jay, will not slow his momentum whatsoever. Can't wait to get that M.Sc..
The third weekend in November we made a quick trip to southern Alberta for a friend's wedding. We stopped in Lethbridge to see my grandparents and my big sis. Amy's baby, Austin, is just 5 months older than Jacob and running around like a maniac. As much as people tell me to cherish these last few moments before he starts getting into everything (and as much as I AM cherishing them) I can't help but be anxiously waiting for Jacob to FINALLY start crawling. He's so close. In fact, just today he sat up from his tummy for the first time ever. Yahoo! A small feat, but we were pretty excited.

I cannot tell you how grateful I am that Jacob is a good eater. Of solid food, that is. He is, and always has been, TERRIBLE at nursing, and it drives me crazy. It's gotten to the point where I can't hardly nurse him in public because he's so distracted. No wonder he's only gained one pound in the last two months-- he only nurses for about 30 seconds at a time. And he has to be sitting up. UGH. Can't wait to wean the little monster. But he refuses to take a bottle and hates formula. Any suggestions?
We LOVE Corner Gas and watch it every night before bed. Jacob loves it too and even dances to the theme music... so cute! Here's Dadda and Jacoboo watching a little Corner G.
