Cabin Fever

I don't know what it is this year... maybe because I'm pregnant, maybe because this is my first winter with a toddler, maybe because I'm just not built for Saskatchewan winters (not that Athabasca/Edmonton is much different) but I am sick sick SICK of winter. UGH. My skin is aching for the warm rays of a golden summer sun. I can't wait to be able to step outside without having to bundle up myself and Jacob, and then pack everything except the kitchen sink in case "something" happens (like getting stuck, the car not starting, sliding into the ditch...etc). Prairie winters are BRUTAL. But then spring and summer come and it's so deliciously beautiful that the -45 windchill is completely forgotten. So, I hope the groundhog was right this year... spring can't come soon enough. Here's a picture I found that was taken last summer at a lake near my parents' place in Athabasca...

C'mon summer!

  2. I am so sick of winter too. I hit that wall late last week and was not feeling so happy about winter.
