Mistaken

So remember my last post about Jacob being so awful with all this teething business?? Well, it seems I have been grossly mistaken. My poor little sick baby. Yesterday, Jacob had been fighting a mild fever all day, which had started the previous night. Accompanied by runny nose, cough and of course, he's pulling his ears. A quick trip to the doctor in -41 and... Surprise surprise... welcome back acute otitis media.

Let me explain. Over Christmas, Jacob developed a bad ear infection in his left ear, along with a 40 degree fever, cough, runny nose -- the works. After some antibiotics, he seemed to be all better. After reflecting on the past couple weeks though, I really wonder if he ever did get better. Because it's back now. Or it never left and it's still here. Now he has it in both ears. No wonder he's been ignoring me when I talk to him. It's a wonder he can hear me at all. My poor baby!

Through it all he has been an absolute trooper, and I feel like an awful parent for ever having complained. I'm sure if I had an ear infection... well, I'll let your imagination finish that sentence. I certainly wouldn't be playing so animatedly or still trying to sneak into the bathroom when no one is watching.
