This summer has been especially hot and humid, with crazy electrical storms and even the occasional tornado. Needless to say, because of the 38 degree humid-ex and other unaccommodating weather patterns, we've been spending quite a lot of time indoors the last few days. And the more time we spend indoors, the more I realize how boring it is for a two year old to be locked up all day. I'm beginning to get a little cabin-fever from his constant pleas to watch a "show" and eat "treats", because that's what we do on rain-days. Everyday until about 2 pm is a rain-day! Or so it seems. I'm always looking for ideas to help keep us occupied while we're shut up in the house, though most things I find involve a) money spending b) a big huge mess or c) supplies I don't usually have. I don't mind messes, but Jay isn't too keen to find rice all over the kitchen floor or tupperware scattered throughout the whole house. Which just means I gotta get it cleaned up before he gets home :) SO. Anyone have some great free cheap ideas to help keep a two year old and an almost-one-year old (I know! Time flies, my friend) occupied for at least 5 minutes at a time to give this momma --and more importantly, the TV-- a break??
