So I realized (after I read Jay's cousin's blog about her pregnancy... thanks for the reminder Lacey!) that I haven't blogged too much lately about my own pregnancy. I am now 29 weeks pregnant-- or 6.5 months, whichever way you like to slice it. Aside from a little congestion at night and some sweet sciatica (or something like it) I've been feeling on top of the world! It's times like these that I feel like I could be pregnant 10 more times and not even bat an eye. Seriously. Well, maybe not 10. But close to it.
I've been having mad braxton-hicks contractions. Which really I don't mind. Sometimes they can be pretty intense, but just another confirmation of the little babe inside getting all ready for the big day. Which is approaching ever-so-quickly. Is it weird that I'm excited for labor?
This little baby-fetus is waaay more active than Jacob ever was in the womb, and it's beginning to make me wonder if that has anything to do with how he/she will be once he/she has arrived?? Jacob-fetus wasn't nearly as active and even now he's the biggest snuggler ever. He could sit on the couch with me half the day and just snuggle, and he's always giving hugs. Maybe this baby won't like the snuggles so much... hmm...
I've been trying really hard to stay in shape and be active, though that's easier said than done when you have a toddler that wants to go-go-go. So my current mode of exercise is walking. Walk walk walk walk walk. I walk about 4 times a week, and on the days I'm really ambitious I walk 10 km. To me it's a total thrill. Really it is! Ya, maybe a tad lame but there's nothing like seeing 10 km on the GPS and knowing I WALKED THAT FAR. BOOYA! haha. Totally exhilarating. PLUS I get a sweet tan from being in the sun. Bonus. Jacob doesn't always like it, and I have to bribe him with treats and toys, but he's content for the most part. I gained 35 pounds with Jacob and vowed to never do that again. So far I've gained 15 pounds, and I'm hoping I don't gain much over 25. That's what I'm shooting for anyway. Walking is the most effective way I've found to keep the pounds off. Sounds easy, eh? I don't know why, but it works really well for me. It's also how I lost all my baby weight from my first pregnancy. Glad I've finally found something that works!
Here's some belly photos from the beginning to present. They aren't great ones, but they'll have to do. The first one was taken in November, when I was like a week pregnant, so consider it a pre-pregnancy photo.

Unknowingly 1 week pregnant.

You look great Stephy:) we can't wait to see you guys in a couple weeks!! Penny, Jacob and Malin are going to LOVE eachother!!
ReplyDeleteHey stephy! I have heard that if they are active inside, then they will be active outside! It's kind of neat to think that they already have a personnality isn't it?
